Dupplin Solar Farm hold 2nd public exhibition

22 January 2026

December 2025

BLC Energy held a second public exhibition for the proposed Dupplin Solar Farm, that is adjacent to the A9 and south of Methven and Tibbermore.

The public exhibition took place on 3 December, in Methven Community Centre. Followed by an online exhibition that took place on 5 December, for those who could not attend in person.

Attendees were able to see the new proposed layout of the solar farm, learn about the environmental assessments that have been conducted and find out how the community’s feedback has shaped the proposal so far.

Neil Lindsay, managing director of BLC Energy, commented: “We have made great progress on Dupplin Solar Farm and have used feedback from local people and consultees like Nature Scot and Scottish Water to improve the design.

“We have reduced the number of panels by over 30%, removed the Battery component, and have added a lot more hedgerow screening, tree planting and species-rich meadows around the site to improve biodiversity.

“Local people will be able to use our 3D model at the public exhibition, which shows how the solar farm will look from various points, and we’ll also have photomontages and maps on hand to help understand what this project might look like.”

Dupplin Solar Farm will comprise approximately 128,688 individual solar panels with a build-out size of around 97.8MW.

It will also generate an annual community benefit fund worth £500MW for every megawatt (MW) of export capacity on site, equating to £48,750 annually for the project’s life.

BLC Energy expects to submit a planning application to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit by February 2026.

If approved, the development will generate enough electricity to power over 35,000 homes annually and substantially reduce carbon emissions over its operational lifespan, compared to traditional fossil fuel-based energy generation.
