West Springfield 2nd Exhibition

On Friday 4th April BLC Energy Ltd held the 2nd Exhibition at Springfield Village Hall in Fife with over 50 visitors attending. The West Springfield Solar Farm and BESS project will comprise of approximately 93,00 individual solar panels with an export capacity of 49.9MW. The changes that BLC Energy, on behalf of TRIO Power, have made since the 1st Exhibition in 2023 demonstrates their proactive approach having listened to local community feedback and addressing these concerns. TRIO Power have already made significant changes and are on track to submit the project application to the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit in the next few weeks. The development will be supporting the government’s net zero target.
The biodiversity net gain of West Springfield Solar Farm and BESS will help conserve, restore and enhance a variety of wildlife that habit the site. Solar sites in the UK typically see a growth of up to 80% in the biodiversity once operational as reported by Solar Energy UK in their recent survey.
The Community Benefit Fund will allow those in the community to deliver important initiatives that will help enhance livelihoods of those living nearby.
